Prep 2018

Families of 2018 Prep students who reside in catchment are invited to download the following forms:
These forms can be submitted to the office from Tuesday 18th April 2017.
If you live outside the school catchment, you can register your interest in enrolling your child for Prep 2018 by contacting the school during office hours.  Your details will be taken and added to a waiting list in order of day/time completed.  If a vacancy exists, you will be contacted to discuss your child's enrolment.

School Tours are run with our Principal or Deputy Principal during Term 2.  Please contact the office so that we can book you into one of these group tours.

Our Open Day is scheduled for THURSDAY 8th JUNE 9am to 10:30am.  The Open Day will begin in the school hall with a greeting and information session from the school principal, Mrs Wendy Hoskin.  School tours will also be conducted.

Pre-Prep Enrolment Program - Term 4 2017

During Term 4, we will be offering a 3 week 'Pre-Prep Enrolment Program' designed to build school readiness and develop oral language, pre-literacy, pre-numeracy and social skills.  During this time, parents will also have the opportunity to work with the STLaN, HOC and Master Teacher around ways to support your child at home.
Please register your interest at our Open Day or by calling the office on 3908 2333 during Term 3.

Enrolment during 2017

Enrolling in our school is a very straight forward process.  Firstly, it is recommended that you use Education Queensland's enrolment catchment map to check if your street address is within our catchment boundaries.  Students residing within the school's catchment area are welcome to enrol at anytime.

The next step is to download and complete the following enrolment documents:

 * Please note that a swimming permission form (included in the enrolment package) needs to be completed annually

Once enrolment documents are completed, please phone our school to  arrange an enrolment interview.  All appropriate documentation should be brought to this interview.

For more information on how we manage enrolments at Morningside State School, please see our School Enrolment Management Plan (PDF, 99KB)

What to bring to enrolment interview:

  • Proof of age (birth certificate or passport) must be provided for all children entering Prep.
  • Report cards and/or records of previous schooling, especially if not coming from an Education Queensland school.
  • Special needs information as applicable.
  • New residents (parents and students) to Australia must also bring passports and their visa. Further information can be found at the Education Queensland International (EQI) website.

Out of catchment enrolments

Students residing outside the catchment boundaries are welcome to apply for enrolment at any time and, it a vacancy exists, may enrol at our school.  If there is no vacancy at the time of enrolment, the student will be placed on a waiting list.
  • Prep

Prep is a full-time program that runs five days per week. Age is the only criterion for enrolment in the Prep year for Queensland children.
